The Referral Specialist will provide customers/patients with exceptional, friendly, and professional customer service experience.
This role is responsible for coordinating the specialty clinics by managing the waiting lists, scheduling the patients, and working on follow-up items after the clinic visits take place.
Essential Functions:
* Coordinates referrals according to the approved process which includes the following: sends complete and accurate referral forms and health records as needed, answers phone calls, communicates with patients as needed, and verifies that medical records and results are received from the referral appointment.
* Assist in audits, and collect information, makes copies of records, and forwards medical records to the appropriate locations.
(Medical Records Clerk)
* Ensure complete and accurate information is given and received, including patient demographic and current insurance information.
* Present necessary medical information to organizations such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis to ensure prior approval requirements are met.
Education and Requirements:
* High School Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred
* Clinical background in training or experience as an MA, LPN, highly desirable
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to work in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
