Department: Upward Bound Immediate Supervisor’s Title: Director of Upward Bound Positions Supervised: None Term of Position: June - July (Day and Afternoon) Position Description:(primary functions) We are seeking a Day and Afternoon Coordinator for the Upward Bound Summer Academy.
This role will coordinate day and afternoon activities and events for participants during the residential part of the Summer Academy.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree minimum, Master’s degree preferred in education or a related field.
Previous experience working with diverse student populations, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and motivate others.
Commitment to the mission and goals of the Upward Bound Summer Academy, with a passion for supporting student success.
Flexible schedule to adhere to Summer Academy schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Day Coordinator: (9am – 3 pm) Oversee the daily operations and activities of the Summer Academy during daytime hours.
Collaborate with staff to implement educational programming, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
Supervise and support participants throughout the day, and on field trips, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including students, families, staff, and community partners.
Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to promote student engagement and success.
Afternoon Coordinator: (3pm – 9pm) Coordinate afternoon activities and events for participants residing on campus during the Summer Academy.
Provide supervision and support during afternoon sessions and field trips, ensuring adherence to program guidelines and policies.
Collaborate with staff to address the individual needs and interests of participants, fostering a positive and enriching experience.
Assist in the evaluation of program activities and outcomes, contributing to ongoing improvement efforts.
Communicate regularly with participants, staff, and families to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts.
