Omni Community Health is looking for a trauma competent, quality-driven professional to join our amazing team as the Medical Assistant.

The Medical Assistant is critical to achieving this focus.
As the Medical Assistant, you would be responsible for performing routine clinical and administrative duties under the direct supervision of a physician or supervisor.
Medical assistants perform many administrative duties, including answering telephones, greeting patients, updating, and filing patients’ medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handling billing and bookkeeping.
Duties include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting during diagnostic examinations.
Medical assistants collect and prepare laboratory specimens or perform basic laboratory tests on the premises, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments.
They instruct patients about medications and special diets, prepare and administer medications as directed, authorize drug refills as directed, and telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy.
They also facilitate communication between the patient and other health care professionals

Requires at least a one or two-year degree in Nursing or a related field.
Must also have a minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting with children or adults diagnosed with mental or behavioral illnesses.
Valid Driver’s License
Proof of Automobile Insurance and Reliable Transportation
Certification in proper crisis prevention initiatives and universal precautions required.
